so profound that many young Americans cannot imagine, much less remember，what segregation was like. 这里都是修饰前面的change，不用过多关注，前面才是主干。
原句可以改为Roy Wilkins was among the last of a generation of civil rights activists who led the nation
through decades of profound change.
作者为了强调了profound，将其单独提出来用so……that结构来修饰。然后在so……that结构中又加入了一个插入语much less remember。

翻译：
RW是带领国家走过几十年变迁的一代民权积极分子中的最后一位。这些变迁是如此的深远，超乎年轻美国人对隔离的想像，更不用说记住了。

或者是：
RW是一代民权积极分子中的最后一位。这些民权分子带领国家走过了几十年的变迁。而这些变迁是如此的深远，超乎年轻美国人对隔离的想像，更不用说记住了。

A和B，much less 和 let alone 都有“更不用说”的意思，为什么是选B？

好吧我发现原题里面A选项没有that可是我做的打印版A选项有that
不过还是希望有牛人解释一下much less和let alone有什么区别嘛，他们都有“更不用说”的意思
