至于这道题it指代 a freestanding house

it 应该指代前面的owning and living......on its own land哦

但it 还是its不都因改指代同一样东西吗？这不是讲不通的吗

我想楼主问的是on its own land中的its指的什么？从句as it was of earlier generations部分OG说的很明确了：it 指owning and living in a freestanding house on its own land.
