标题: 求助OG12verbal--84关于that的问题
The computer company's present troubles are a result of technological stagnation, markteing missteps, and mangerial blunders so that several attempts to revise corporate strategies have failed to coorect it.

在OG的解释中，correct后的宾语是that，我以为that的先行词是前面的a result ，然后做correct的宾语，不知道这样理解对不对，对整个句子的把握都有点模糊，请大家指教~~

如果是这样的话，那这个句子表达的层次是这样的么：计算机公司现在的问题是尝试修改得公司战略在改正技术停滞、市场、管理方面失败的结果？唔~~我觉得这题that的用法好怪的~

那为何不用those呢？that好像不能指代复数吧

those只能作主语啊，不能做宾语的，而且用those的话整个句子就有两个独立的句子了，还没有连词连接，句子肯定是不符合语法啊~~我觉得这个that不是单纯的代词，是从句的引导词，只不过前面那些technological stagnation。。。是其先行词吧~
个人看法啦，大家可以再讨论讨论~~

我两次做都错选B啊......
现在回过头来看，确实只有D比较好
首先，从逻辑意思上来看，原句是说电脑公司现在的问题是技术停滞、市场过失以及【修正合作策略的数次尝试都不能修正】管理失误所导致的。
在这里，先不管that后面的内容是修饰全部的三个过失还只是最后的管理失误，它都没有表目的或是结果的意思，因此根据prep语法笔记所述，用以表结果的so...that是不能用在这里的。
因此排除A&B
至于c，似乎没有看过og或是prep的句子中有这种用法的，真正的flow还请nn指教
再看DE。一开始我觉得that在逻辑上是共同修饰前面三个过失，但语法上却只能修饰最后的managerial blunders，因而修饰错误。
但实际上从语意的角度来说，只修饰managerial blunders也没什么错。
而二者中，E选项的them多余，因为that已经是correct的宾语，排除E只能选D

不好意思~我查了好多资料是没有“those只能做主语”这一说，但在例句当中我也没找到those做宾语的情况，我当时想的是作宾语往往用代词的宾格形式。

不好意思~我查了好多资料是没有“those只能做主语”这一说，但在例句当中我也没找到those做宾语的情况，我当时想的是作宾语往往用代词的宾格形式。

我觉得that引导的是主语从句，修饰的是troubles。因为troubles的修饰语过长，为避免头重脚轻，所以后置了。

correct修饰rusult，逻辑上不对
correct修饰troubles 修正问题（或麻烦）比较通顺。

讲讲我的想法：
1. attempt to do 和 attempt at doing 用法上的问题，没看到大家讨论，刚才 Google 了一下，attempt at doing 也没说是错误用法，暂且认为是没有问题的。

2. that 定语从句修饰对象的问题：这里紧跟 blunder，有没有嫌疑只是修饰blunder的？像这种并列的3个东西，句子愿意肯定是that 同时修饰3个的，that 能做定语从句同时修饰他们3个吗？语法上有没有问题？会不会歧义？

3. 从句意上理解：company 有 3 个 troubles，通过 revise strategies 失败了
a. 如果 that 定语从句修饰 3 个troubles，那句子意思就是：company 有 3 个通过revise strategy 不能correct的 troubles。这还是在 that 定语从句没有歧义的assumption上
b. 如果把后面分句当成结果看，so that 意思：以至于；那句子意思就变成：company 有 3 个 troubles，这些 troubles 是 xxx，xxx，and xxx，以至于 company 在 revise strategy 上的努力失败了，因为strategy 和这3个troubles是不同的东西，你对象都搞错了，能不fail 吗

所以，从句子逻辑意义上讲，我还是倾向于 so that 的，也就是 B 选项

还有楼主说这是 OG12 里的题，我怎么没搜到呀？题号 verbal 84 也不是

哈哈，你的意思我懂~~我觉得你的解释使这个句子清晰不少，而且逻辑比较通顺了。只不过题目当中这种修饰成分后置的情况比较少，GMAT往往都是修饰成分紧跟修饰语~

这确实是OG12--verbalSC 84的题啦。
OG对于B选项的解释为“The conjunction so is inappropriate because no consequences are given; the verb correct has on object"

嗯确实不常见因为容易歧义。不过你可以参考下manhattan语法的chapter12 里面提到了若修饰语过长则允许修饰语后置，还给出了例句：A new CEO has been hired who will transform the company......

mahattan也提到这只能应用于没有歧义的情况哦~比如像ls举出的粒子，因为who只能指代人，而前面只有一个指人的CEO，所以修饰语能够后置。
在84题里，从语法上来说that既可以修饰result，也可以修饰troubles，还可以修饰blunders，很明显会引起歧义啊~因此根据gmat里修饰语通常修饰离其最近的名词这一习惯，个人支持是修饰blunders

今天刷OG--VERBAL发现当时争议的that修饰问题，在OG上有解释“this sentences lists three causes of the company's troubles and asserts that strageies to correct the causes of the problems have failed . The clearest, most efficient way to this is to refer to the causes with the relative pronoun that",这么看来that应该修饰的是troubles 了~~

求解是不是主系表结构表示一种状态，因此不能导致某些结果呢？
