答案是C，~不太明白是为什么，可能是我的中文翻译有问题或是哪里没懂~求NN指点一下

我理解的中文（不对指正哈）：没有其他的历史性观测能像哈雷彗星一样产生这么大的震撼，当追溯到1910到1911年~

我觉得its指代的是Halley’s Comet
所以应该翻译为  哈雷彗星从来没有在哪一次历史观测中引起像它在1910-1911的回归中那样大的世界范围内的震撼。

有点这个意思，可是怎么才能看出他是介词短语的比较呢，比如这题，是不是通过看选项才能看出来呢？这里难道没有动词比较吗？

no other .....as......比较的感觉，往往出现类似：no other place in no bababa，一般都是状语比较~这类的比较多，而这里的as应该可以理解为类似than的结构~

因为 否定No在介宾短语中 因此比较的也是这个短语，即时间。
改一下： HC did not cause such a worldwide sensation in other sighting as .............
那么as 后面就应该是 it did(had) in its return of XX
这里就是动作比较了

"in no other"就是一个比较的signal word~这里就是时间上的比较,因为动词都是一样的,就像bitieming说的那样,是自己跟自己比较,具体来说就是cause a worldwide sensation.是说,[在其他的时间里],都没有像[1910–1911返回时]那样引起巨大的轰动了(共性,不是比较内容).另外,你问"是不是通过选项才能看出来",这题你可以看原文就看出来,但是并不要求你有这个能力.很多题目甚至绝大多数题目都不要求你有这种能力.你要做到的就是第一遍看题目的时候grab the intended meaning,然后如果发现问题最好,连同其他选项有相同问题的一起eliminate掉.如果没有问题,竖看选项,让选项guide you.不要觉得这样不好,这样才是最efficient的方法.也是国外论坛instructor推荐的语法解题方法.

我开始做的时候想着as后面要加句子的便把CDE都排除了 那按这么理解 as还是应该加句子 只是这里把主谓都省略了？？
