Some cleaning fluids, synthetic carpets, wall paneling, and other products release toxins, such as formaldehyde and benzene, into the household air supply. This is not a problem in well-ventilated houses, but it is a problem in houses that are so well insulated that they trap toxins as well as heat. Recent tests, however, demonstrate that houseplants remove some household toxins from the air and thereby eliminate their danger. In one test, 20 large plants eliminated formaldehyde from a small, well-insulated house.

E. If formaldehyde benzene are being released of each will decrease.

I do not quiet understand what does choice E talk about. Is there any REAL differencece between D and E (though I choosed D when I worked on this question). Anybody can explain a little bit? Thank you.

Sorry, I have to say that you make too many mistakes, not only the choices, but your note. You know LSAT is so hard that even a small mistake will deflect the way of thinking and make people lost. The E choice should be " If formaldehyde and benzene are being released into the household air supply, the quantities released of each will decrease.". D is the right choice. E is wrong. The passage just mentions plants can eliminate formaldehyde, not benzene. That rules out the choice E which says benzene decreases also.

原来E选项是错误的，怪不得我做这个题的时候觉得怪怪的呢。

按照LAWYER提供的E选项：If formaldehyde and benzene are being released into the household air supply, the quantities released of each will decrease.

我觉得E错在the quantities released of each will decrease
因为原文是houseplants remove some household toxins from the air，并没有说植物可以是有害物质的排放量减少。
