30求教

Q30:

The ancient Anasazi harvested such native desert vegetation as the purple-flowered bee plant, what they now commonly call wild spinach in northern Arizona and other parts of the southwestern United States.

  1. what they now commonly call

  2. a plant that they now commonly call

  3. now commonly called

  4. and is mow commonly called

  5. which it is now commonly called

Q20:

Rivaling the pyramids of Egypt or even the ancient cities of the Maya as an achievement, the army of terra-cotta warriors created to protect Qin Shi Huang, China’s first emperor, in his afterlife is more than 2,000 years old and took 700,000 artisans more than 36 years to complete them.

  1. took 700,000 artisans more than 36 years to complete them

  2. took 700,000 artisans more than 36 years to complete it

  3. took 700,000 artisans more than 36 years to complete

  4. 700,000 artisans took more than 36 years to complete

  5. to complete them too 700,000 artisans more than 36 years

问题是按照b,句子变成the army of terra-cotta warriors took 700,000 artisans more than 36 years to complete it。

sth takes ...to complete.

请教

which it is now commonly called

they的确指代有问题, 因为they不太可能指代The ancient Anasazi, 这里感觉they指的是现代的人......

C, C.

Q30 "now called ..." modifies "

Q20 B the "
it" in the end is not only unnecessary, but wrong.
"sth. take sb. some time to complete" is idiomatic.

Each member of the youth trainees, now commonly called "Green Bombers", would then be assigned to monitor five to eight homes ensuring that every home is accounted for

主句是 the army is more than 2,000 years old and took 700,000 artisans more than 36 years to complete.

eg: I lent him a book to read.

OG12 61 SC

61. Rivaling the pyramids of Egypt or even the ancient
cities of the Maya as an achievement, the army of
terra-cotta warriors created to protect Qin Shi Huang,
China’s fi rst emperor, in his afterlife is more than
2,000 years old and took 700,000 artisans more than
36 years to complete.
OG里面选的就是A,没有it。
