Only seven people this century have been killed by the great white shark, the man-eater of the movies—less than those killed by bee stings.

A.movies—less than those

B.movies—fewer than have been

C.movies, which is less than those

D.movies, a number lower than the people(B)

E.movies, fewer than the ones

我有三个问题啊，第一：我知道如果主语是特指的情况下，比较主语时从句的that/ those 是必须要的，那么seven people 不算特指吗？所以我觉得those 不能省略啊。第二：the ones 是不是不能做指代people啊？ones 是怎么用啊？第三：the man-eater of the movies --在句子是充当什么成分呢？我不明白它的作用。。。谢谢回答啊！

1 这里确实是补出来比较好，但是如果说前后都是people，这个问题不算太大
2 有one 和 ones 的话前面要出现总类别，必须是某个群体其中的一个
3 the man-eater of the movies,这是 the great white shark的同位语

我觉得only seven people 这里算不算是特指啊，应该不算吧？不是说前后都是指的people，主语就可以省略，如果前面的people 是特指的话，和后面的people 不一样的话，是应该补出来的。你对ones 的解释我好像有点明白，但又不是很明白，能举个可以用ones 的例子吗？额，我没表达清楚，我是问破折号是什么意思？为什么破折号可以这样用。。

懂了懂了，one 或是ones 是指代一个群体里面不特定的集合，那么这里用 ones 肯定是错误的了！谢谢！！！！

如果是those 还能用less 么。。。than 可以做代词成分。。有先例。。（但实际上据说是一个省略成分来着。。具体忘了。。）

先例比如说：Fewer people will enter the labor force in the 1980's than (few people 省略） did in the 1960's and 1970's. 这里可以省略是因为前面的主语不是特指，所以可以省略，我觉得我贴的这道题是一样的，估计 only seven people 没有特指，只是说people 被killed 有几个而已。
