    这道题有人讨论过了,不过我有个自己的困惑没解决,请大家指正

    我选的E,因为我觉得这个METHOD是在人们REALIZED他的缺陷之前. 所以人们RELIZED他的缺陷用过去式,放生REALIZED前的METHOD为什么不用HAD呢?

应该是选C吧？
句子中表达的意思中没有“这个方法在意识到实质之前就一直存在”这一条，事实上句子想要表达的是两个转折的意思，第一个是“这个方法好久以前就有了”第二个是“但是直到……才发现……”
另外E中well established做后置定语修饰method，个人认为出现了句子中没有强调的内容，即“leaching这种方法很久以前就有，在18c才成为一种成熟的方法……”

理解错意思了...错了这种题两次了,看到一般过去时就想选过去完成时
