310.For some reason the new consultant treats his clients like idiots, talking to them like they were mentally deficient and incapable of understanding more than the simplest ideas.

(B) as if they were idiots, talking to them like they

(E) like idiots who

我知道as if的用法是虚拟语气。但是没有看到过treat like 的用法，也没有查到。只有treat－－as，这里这样用有问题吗？

请大家提供个连看看也行，没有找到以前的帖子

这里的like为preposition, 直接对比相连接的N:

但like不接句子

treat ---as---指看待,以某种方式对待:

He treated his mistake as a joke.
他把他的错误当作玩笑看待。

treat sb. as a friend
把某人当作朋友

请问:treat--as和treat---like 有什么区别吗?

treat--A1--like---A2--A1不是A2,本质是不同的.

treat--A1--as----A2---A1--is--A2,它的本质就是A2.

这个好像是新东方老师说的,我想再向大家确认一下,这样分析对不?

这几条用

treat--A1--like---A2--A1不是A2,本质是不同的.
treat--A1--as----A2---A1--is--A2,它的本质就是A2

这种说法还是讲的通的。

在这中情况下，like和as都作为介词，我们来看看他们的意思

like prep.

Possessing the characteristics of; resembling closely; similar to.
1. In the typical manner of: It's not like you to take offense.
2. In the same way as: lived like royalty.
Inclined or disposed t felt like running away.
As if the probability exists for: looks like a bad year for farmers.
Such as; for example: saved things like old newspapers and pieces of string.

In the role, capacity, or function of: acting as a mediator.
In a manner similar to; the same as: On this issue they thought as one.

Treat

- to act or behave towards in the stated way, 接like

She treated us like children. (=as if we were children)

- to regard or consider in the stated way, 接as

He treated our suggestion as a joke.

也就是说，表动作上的treatj接like，表心里上treat接As

好象突然终于明白了(汗....俺反应比较慢....):

根据Longman的解释: treat sb as/like sth都是可以的. 所以本题之所以不能选D, 乃是因为"as idiots, talking to them like they"中后面的那个like不能接句子.

请指教.

原句的talking....是修饰treats
改成who...后变成修饰idiots

GMAT的考试中，除非原句的逻辑有误，否则不能改变句意
