293. Federal incentives now encourage investing capital in commercial office buildings despite vacancy rates in existing structures that are exceptionally high and no demand for new construction.
(A) investing capital in commercial office buildings despite vacancy rates in existing structures that are exceptionally high and
(B) capital investment in commercial office buildings, even though vacancy rates in existing structures are exceptionally high and there is
(C) capital to be invested in commercial office buildings even though there are exceptionally high vacancy rates in existing structures with
(D) investing capital in commercial office buildings even though the vacancy rates are exceptionally high in existing structures with(B)
(E) capital investment in commercial office buildings despite vacancy rates in existing structures that are exceptionally high, and although there
1有.encourage to do /encourage sth的用法,题中encourage doing的用法对不对?
2.with no demond for sth 比there be 结构更简洁,为什么不用?
3.B比C优,就是因为even though 后面没有用there be 句型吗?
encourage
verb [T] (Cambridge Dictionary of American English )
to help (someone) to feel confident and able to do something, or strongly to advise (someone) to do something
Our parents always encouraged us to ask questions.------------encourage sb to do sth
If something encourages an activity, it supports it or makes it more likely: The city needs to encourage job creation.------------------encourage sth
another usage is : encourage sb in sth(but in Cambridge Advanced Learner's Dictionary )
to talk or behave in a way that gives someone confidence to do something:
They've always encouraged me in everything I've wanted to do.
2.with no demond for sth 比there be 结构更简洁,为什么不用?
with 结构表示的是一种伴随状态,C中there are exceptionally high vacancy rates in existing structures with no demand for new construction.
3.B比C优,就是因为even though 后面没有用there be 句型吗?
even though vacancy rates in existing structures are exceptionally high and there is no demand for new construction
一看到there is,我就把B排除了。。。

1. Inflation in medical costs slowed in 1986 for the fifth consecutive year but were still about 50 percent greater than the rate of price increases for other items included in the consumer price index.
(A) Inflation in medical costs slowed in 1986 for the fifth consecutive year but were
(B) Inflation in medical costs slowed for the fifth consecutive year in 1986 but was
(C) In 1986 inflation in medical costs were slowed for the fifth consecutive year but were
(D) 1986 was the fifth consecutive year in which inflation in medical costs slowed but was(B)
(E) 1986 was the fifth consecutive year that inflation in medical costs were slowed, but they were
Inflation in medical costs slowed for the fifth consecutive year in 1986 but was
偶觉得in 1986和for the fifth consecutive都是做状语修饰slowed。
