标题: 问prep2008-189有关于that定语从句的问题
Today’s technology allows manufacturers to make small cars more fuel-efficient now than at any time in their production history.

A.small cars more fuel-efficient now than at any time in their

B.small cars that are more fuel-efficient than they were at any time in their

C.small cars that are more fuel-efficient than those at any other time in

D.more fuel-efficient small cars than those at any other time in their
E.more fuel-efficient small cars now than at any time in

这题的答案是C，我想问的是，在C选项里that 定于从句修饰small cars是到哪里结束的？

是到more fuel-efficient，
还是后面的结构都是作为定于从句修饰small cars？

我感觉第二种解释不太对。。。但是第一种解释that are more fuel-efficient是small cars的定语从句，那more...than...的比较结构不就拆开了么？一部分在定从里面，一部分在主句里面，这样看来，第一种解释也不太对啊。。。。

所以我想问下，这个修饰small cars的that从句到底是包括了那些？？？

that从句一直到句尾，为什么觉得第二种不太对呢?

因为我感觉题干里面的句子比较结构是句子的主要部分，而如果C选项中that从句一直到句尾的话，那么比较结构不就是在that从句里       是句子的从属部分了么？这样会不会改变了句子原本结构呢？
