介词短语换位置修饰对象不同
C里面on earth修饰的是rate
E里面 surest indications on Earth 修饰的是indication
我说的“世上”的修饰对象是“指标”不是“速率”

另外C是错误的：
C.On Earth, the rate at which trees grow is believed to be among the surest indications of sunspot cycles, as seen in the rings visible in the cross sections oftheir trunks.

as后面有个their，理应指代的是trees,而C就近的是indications，their指代有误.

正确语序应该把as后面的东西提前The rate at which treesgrow, as seen in the rings visible in the cross sections oftheir trucks, is believed to be among the surest indications on Earth of sunspot cycles.
因为没有这样的选项，所以gmac才倒装：

E.Among the surest indications on Earth of sunspot cycles is believed to be the rate at which trees grow, as seen in the rings visible in the cross sections oftheir trunks.
为了让their就近修饰trees

这样理解总不会有误了吧？

C里面on earth修饰的是rate
E里面 surest indications on Earth 修饰的是indication
我说的“世上”的修饰对象是“指标”不是“速率”
