答案是C，我选的D,LZM的答案解释我不是很明白！“as + 名词结构一般是做行为动词（regard,think...）的宾补且与宾语之间不用逗号分离，B、D违反此用法”

求大牛解释！感激

我觉得as...作介词短语修饰一个名词是可以的。只是名词之间不对应。是the use of essential items as the protection ，而不是essential items as the protection.

as+名词 = 固定搭配 (regard as, think of as)。这里不是固定搭配所以不能用

As 不一定只在regard 和think of 之后才能加名词用啊~。作为什么什么的不就可以直接用嘛~如下面句子：
As a parent, I feel that more should be done to protect our children
