(D) an event that caused plant and animal extinctions, and it（asteriod?event?） marks（完整独立句子）

(E) an event that caused the plant and animal extinctions thatmark

D选项的and it marks被说成是完整的新句子，构成了run-on错误
说实话一直没太懂怎么回事叫做run-on

本题来说，and it makes如果it没有不清的话，我觉得是可以的。这个事情同时标志了***

run-on的意思是不是说，既然后面主谓都全了，就应该前面做成一个句号。然后写一个完全信的句子呢？

一个句子里面两套主谓也不是什么新鲜事吧

E对不是某小球造成了动植物灭绝，是球撞球这个事儿，而which有歧义，所以用event

D 原文的意思应该是it 指(extinctions) mark the end of ......

run-on就是指it紧跟着上句末尾，想指代extinctions。。顾名思义 run-on：卷起来车轴转的意思嘛。（but失败了。。）

那么D里面 , and it marks为什么还会被称作run-on呢？虽然是两套主谓了可是用了连词和逗号进行连接啊。 run-on是说忘记连接的两个完整句子么？
