标题: 求助，比较两道题目对比，呼唤NN
对于比较助动词问题。提问
我发现自己超级搞不定比较，特别是助动词判断的，
比如
Despite recent increases in sales and cash flow that have propelled automobile companies' common stocks to new highs, several industry analysts expect automakers, in order to conserve cash, to set dividends more conservatively than they were
A.
to set dividends more conservatively than they were
B.
to set dividends more conservatively than they have been
C.
to be more conservative than they have been in setting dividends
D.
that they will be more conservative than they were in setting dividends
E.
that they will be more conservative than they have been to set dividends
当时有人说可以走conserve的路线，没问题了解，但是看到笔记上n多人是在分析助动词对应问题，所以想求证各位怎么由主动入手推的，主要从ABC说明就可以

首先是B中的there were后面算是省略了什么？
其次，就是比较中的省略问题，到底什么时候可以，什么时候不可以，从我上面这两个题目来说。。。

第一题：set dividends more conservatively than they were
前面是实意动词set，因此后面补助动词的时候可以是do,does,did,have been,has been ,had been等。具体用哪个，取决于时态和单复数。

本题因为主语是they,而比较的是将来和已经发生的，因此补足的时候用have been

第二题：there are now one microcomputer for every thirty-two pupils, four times as many than there were four years ago.
(1) as many than 是错误的, 只能是as many as, 或者more ....than
(2) 因为比较是过去和现在，时态发生了变化，因此主语和谓语需要重复一下,there were不能少，后面省略的是microcomputers. 如果是统一时态，则是可以省略的，比如

there are now one microcomputer for every thirty-two pupils in China, four times as many as in Korea.

一点愚见，也欢迎大家讨论指点

大侠，有2问题
1）按你这么说的话，第一个BC都可以，为什么排除了B呢？这是我焦率的

2）的话，算是主语比较吧？

1、B是被动了啊，have been set, 按照语义应该是have set.

2、其实我知道E不对，但让我说为何不对呢，我也说的不太清楚。你再问问吧

E里的has错了吧

请问，
为什么你举的例子里头，不像原题所给的答案那样用“there is”而是采用“there are ”呢？原题正确选项中可以把 “there were”改成“there was”吗？

第二题：there are now one microcomputer for every thirty-two pupils, four times as many than there were four years ago.

C中的there is 和there were指什么呢？
