谢谢gg夸奖。 我觉得句子的结构是: settlers used ...making..., 这样making 是同used一个级别的（逻辑意思错误，其实想表达的是同build一个级别的东西）， them也就是指mud and grass(指代错误），还有making them while not having是否有wordy and redundant得错误？因为while not having 可以用without 表达的。见笑！
