第一题A，比较结构比较的如果不是主谓结构，而且比较对象的主谓一致时，主谓结构可以省略，但保留介词结构，如此题：more babies were born to women over the age of thirty than (babies were born to women) under it. 括号内的内容可以全部省略。

第二题，有过争论，焦点在于限定修饰和非限定修饰，可以查查前面的帖子。但我个人认为C的表达不好，which的指代对象离从句太远；and使句子不完整，因为缺少谓语动词。

第一题偶选B,B对于比较更清楚，more babies were born to women ，后面的to women 可以舍去，it is impossible born to men.

我觉得B的问题是，分词短语making究竟是在which从句里，还是在which从句外，所以会有歧义.

好像没有什么说服力。因果倒置。


如果你把它作为修饰谓语的分词结构，自然就有能解释通的逻辑了。

og179的DE选项都把现在分词放在了两个名次结构之间（如从句宾语与主句主语之间），当然会引起修饰上的歧异。


至于这个12-20的D选项，没有这个问题。因为它并没有位于两个名词性成分之间。不选D的理由在于Approved是修饰the act的。但D插入了making的分词结构，让修饰语与修饰对象远离，造成了理解上的困难。至于A选项also之前的comma，完全不必理会。此comma与它之前的之前的comma是因为插入了“华盛顿，DC”这个插入语而出现的。also可以作副词修饰established。

12-20：我個人不選d的原因是，如果aproved...和making...是要當成分詞短語來修飾the act of congress..也不是不行，但是，aproved April, 1800和makin...之間要加個and，不則就會造成making... 是在修飾1800的誤解。

看完这个长贴，请各位nn说说我能不能这样理解：


B:making修饰对象不详


C：and引导的并列无法成立


D：making造成夹心结构（古镯语），我觉得主句前两个从句这样的结构也不是很顺眼


E：establishing的逻辑意义不能在这里做伴随

also是连词,这里用来修饰established,而不是引导一个从句.因为also之前并没有完整的主谓结构阿


至于C,如果把句子结构挑出来,就成了" The act approved and established..." 而句子的本意是说" The act ( been ) approved".所以C不正确.


E里面,我觉得also表达出的意思是说,the act made provision 和establishing 是同一层次的动作,因而, 用分词形式感决有点和句意不统一....


B & D ...偶看起来觉得十分不爽, 就决定无论如何不选了...
