from the Earth's interior and producing energy on a commercial scale, enough for efficient

generation of electricity and heating factories and homes.

(B) and producing enough energy on a commercial scale for electricity to be generated efficiently

and to heat

选D没问题。
问题是Prep中解释说have succeeded…and producing…前者是动词结构,后者是动名词结构不平行。我的问题是
能解释为mining heat from the Earth's interior and producing   并列吗？谢谢。

选D没问题。
问题是Prep中解释说have succeeded…and producing…前者是动词结构,后者是动名词结构不平行。我的问题是
能解释为mining heat from the Earth's interior and producing   并列吗？谢谢。

如果一定要解释为mining heat from the Earth's interior and producing来平行的话，后面应该加一个in变为 and in producing, 相当于变成succeeded in in mining...and in producing.. 不然结构就变化无法平行了。 而且当然从句意逻辑结构上，这两者不平行。

我觉得是可以这样平行的，只是逻辑意思上不如to produce好。因为mining heat 和 produce energy 是先后关系或者因果关系，不太是并列关系。 另外，for the first time是不是也可以强调用to do更好些？

我觉得b选项说和前面的mining并列是可以的，因为in引导并列的时候，第二个in应该是可以省略的。b项主要是错在后面不平行了

逻辑上不平行。

succeeded for the first time in mining heat from the Earth's interior and (in) producing energy.

first time in producing energey? 不合理

应该是mining heat to produce，表目的。
