that的先行词是coolness and mutability－复数；D中的it指代religious zeal；which和that的先行词相同。

you're right, but I also check the word, coolness, and it shows in Longman a "uncountable"

that's weird........

关于不可数名词前加a，我觉得是表达“一类”的意思。

但我和狗狗有一样的疑问，这里两个名字是共用一个a吗？那么后面就应该用单数。如果不是共用a，那么就是后面的mutability前省略了a。有这样的省略法吗？

I think that has two 先行词, a coolness of judgement, mutality of purpose

so that refers to a coolness of judgement and mutality of purpose.It refers to zeal.
