1、主句与从句时态一致只是一个大部分情况下成立的规则，GMAT其实有很多规则都不是absolutely right。主从时态不一致的一个很重要的例外就是句子有暗示自己时态的含义或单词。 这个题之所以主句用现在时态是因为这个trenches到现在仍能带来证据，而从句用过去时则也是因为complex societies 的arise是过去的事情了，这两个属于句子意思决定时态可以不同。LZ再仔细看未划线部分还有一个in what is now southern Iraq，这里就属于now暗示要用一般现在时了。 2、我觉得是的~ 3、 （1）首先主谓一致，主语是trenches复数，排除B\D （2）A：that定从啰嗦，直接cut into过去分词作后置定语更加简洁。而且最后的were arising过去进行时时态也没有依据~ （3）D：having been done的形式不可以做定语，错！后面的were arising同A

弱弱地问一下 the first trenches谓语用复数，但是trenches前面有the first作为修饰 不应该用单数形式么~表打我啊！！
