(A) their指代单数名词company错误；表示状态的动词continue不能用现在进行时态；be used for paying名词形式不如动词形式更简洁有效。 (B) their和they指代单数名词company错误；as作连词表示“当…时，随着”，改变了原句要表达“然而” 的转折对比含义。 (C) 正确，关系副词where引导定语从句修饰名词overseas，went to pay…清楚地表达了profit的用途， while it continued表达了转折对比关系。
(D) with… +现在分词结构不能清楚地表达与overseas的关系；表示状态的动词continue不能用现在进 行时态。 (E) with…+过去分词结构不能清楚地表达与overseas的关系；as作连词表示“当…时，随着”，改变了 原句要表达“然而”的转折对比含义；be used for paying名词形式不如动词形式更简洁有效。
这道题说while 在正确答案C中表示转折的意思，对么？ 我怎么觉得原句的逻辑是：电脑公司有1600万的损失，云因是该公司只在海外盈利，在那里需缴纳很多税，同时在北美一直亏损。 while 是不是应该是同时的意思啊作者: deityc 时间: 2011-5-25 09:02

我觉得两种解释应该都可以吧，但是从句意上看的话，我个人更倾向于这里是表示转折的，因为整个句子说的是这个电脑公司的两个不同地点的截然相反的经营状况。 关于while用作连词时朗文上的例句，可以看看 while1 S1 W1 1 during the time that something is happening: They arrived while we were having dinner. While she was asleep, thieves broke in and stole her handbag. She met Andy while working on a production of Carmen. ? see usage note during 2 all the time that something is happening: Would you look after the children while I do the shopping? 3 used to emphasize the difference between two situations, activities etc: Schools in the north tend to be better equipped, while those in the south are relatively poor. 4 in spite of the fact that [= although]: While never a big eater, he did snack a lot.
