householdswhere the children and grandchildren are living in their grandparents' home as compared
to households where the grandparents are living in theirchildren's or grandchildren's home.

(A) as compared to households where the

这道题答案是B，我选的C。PREP上说household应该用where.这个懂。但要是从平行对称的角度上，there are more than three times as many householdsas there are households

前面的there are 是在as 前面啊，那 many households与there are households不就是不对称了吗？？？求解

我试试：there are households的主语是households，
看到those就直接选了。中文思维啊；请问如果c改为 as those where可以不可以选？

I have as many apples as Kate has.

第一个as 是副词，第二个是连词。我觉得你可以联想as much as, 将as many apples视为一个副词词组
第二个as连接的是两个句子，即 I have 和K have

因此题中句子可分解为：

there are..... (as...)副词词组 as there are.....

两句构成并列

不可以，是（there be 句子1）, 和（there be 句子2）构成的as...as比较，
若为there be .... as...as those (where定从）比较对象不对等

选B是没有疑问，但是对compared to 的用法是不大确定，感觉compared to 和as....as 是不是不能混用啊？谁能帮忙解答下呢？

as many as 一定要连用 as many... campared to是典型错误

我个人认为，as...as本身就是比较，再加上compare to 就重复了。而且有点比较结构混用的感觉。这只是个人理解

就是两个there be 句型的并列了？这个例子很清楚，就是有点颠覆了我对并列结构的理解。。。
