Although most experts agree that such a tax would result in fewer Birangians buying new vehicles and gradually reduce the number of automobiles on Birangi’s roads, they contend that it would have little impact on Birangi’s air-quality problem.
Which of the following, if true in Birangi, would most strongly support the experts’ contention about the effect of the proposed automobile tax on Birangi’s air-quality problem?
A Automobile emissions are the largest single source of air pollution. B Some of the proceeds from the new tax would go toward expanding the nonpolluting commuter rail system. C Currently, the sales tax on new automobiles is considerably lower than 50 percent. D Automobiles become less fuel efficient and therefore contribute more to air pollution as they age. E The scrapping of automobiles causes insignificant amounts of air pollution. 是D 我對D的理解是這樣 無論new cars 或 old cars(注意題目寫new automobiles的範圍包括new cars和old cars) 都會隨著使用年數增長而不省油 造成對空氣更多污染 也就是說 old cars + new cars=automobiles 兩者的排放量都因年紀增長 對空氣造成雙倍污染
請問這樣理解適當嗎?作者: 阿汤 时间: 2011-5-19 15:15
我觉得你的理解应该是正确的。 因为原句说in fewer Birangians buying new vehicles ,就是少买了新的车辆。 D答案说,as they age.随着时间的增长,车会便得越来越没有燃油的效率。 support的题目充分必要都可以做条件。这个条件支持了that it would have little impact on Birangi’s air-quality problem.这个结论
