标题: 求选校 QCF in GT VS MSF in JHU
本人985学校的本科，GT成绩都一般，主要有一两年的工作经验，所以才申请上的。
打算留学回国去证券公司或者基金公司工作，工作方向应该是偏research的。不知道哪个更好一些。论项目的质量肯定是QCF好于MSF，GT的工程学院是全美前4的，专业排名在全美是前15，但是因为国内无论是固收还是股票的研究，其实应用到金融工程的东西基本没有，而很多公司在招人的时候又很看重学校的综合排名。而且JHU的carey Business School 在2012年有希望进全美前20，所以就比较纠结，希望大家能给些建议~谢谢！~

Do not go to Carey if you are serious about a career in finance. Go to one of the established, accredited schools, and one that has ties with CFA if you are interested in the investments or investment banking field. Hopkins business school's new finance program has recently turned the program into nothing but fluff and theory.
From Carey you will leave with theory taught by people with no experieince and an indoctrination into the social philosophies of the new management. It's hard for you to get good networking in this school. Networking within your school's niche is the most important. My professor told me that JHU business school are regarded in the Baltimore-Washington area, but that they currently don't have the national reputation of top business school degrees not alone top 20.

jhu在商界的人脉得20年＋的积累，不会一蹴而就的，看看linkedin就知道，cary一共没几个从事ibd，很少很少，圈子很窄

IBD我不清楚CAREY是否有联系，咨询MBB我清楚是有的。本人麦肯锡（NY）实习，就是CAREY的SOCIAL WORK，我们有比赛，跟MIC和BCG都有NETWORKING，麦肯锡好像和我们有合作？反正蛮了解CAREY的好像。我去的时候没有被歧视。

是，IB好像是满少的，但是据说有人去的HK的IB。

谢谢大家的建议！~不过当我和GT学MFE的同学打完电话后，我还是决定去读JHU的MSF。我觉得有如下几个理由：
第一，我打算回国找工作，其实国内的金融工程发展水平很低。国外学的很多基本用不上。除非我非做数量分析的这一块，不然金融硕士和金工硕士其实找工作没有太多优势，即使你的编程和数学很牛！~而且很多公司很看综合排名。所以两个项目没有太多差别。
第二，从part-time的角度上讲，我问了几个国外的朋友。一个非常大的区别，国内的在职研究生和国内的全日制研究生的区别不能于国外的part-time和full-time等同。其实很多时候应该将国内的part-time的MBA和国内的full-time的MBA来作为相似的考虑。而且part-time的MBA往往更厉害。再者，我是有工作经验的，所以我可能更愿意白天找个intern或者修其他的课或者其他的事情，晚上拿来学习。就这点来说part-time也不是一个重点。
第三，关于学院不行，学的浅显，其实金融你说能有学得多深奥，master本身就不可能学深，关键看自己的研读和理解。本身是一本实践的课程，书本学深了，不见得有多大价值。大家都觉得学得难，学得深奥才是王道。那应该去读个PHD。我觉得关键还是会如何应用才重要。而且要增强自己的沟通、交流能力可能也更为重要。所以说学得潜这个负面因素我也排除了。
第四，最重要的，我觉得还是个人的兴趣吧。虽然本科是理科背景。但是对于编程和数学模型，我不排斥也不喜欢。而且我更愿意和人打交道，至少MSF的课程比MFE的课程涉及更多的听力和口语，讨论还有交流啥的。暂不讨论将来职业，从兴趣来说，还是比较喜欢MSF。

个人觉得自己的工作经验不够，才1年多点。所以没法申请到好的MBA。而且个人想转做金融方向的工作。所以申了MSF
