标题: GWD7-Q4 B还是E？争议题
GWD7-Q4:

Only seven people this century have been killed by the great white shark, the man-eater of the movies—less than those killed by bee stings.

A.movies—less than those

B.movies—fewer than have been

C.movies, which is less than those

D.movies, a number lower than the people

E.movies, fewer than the ones

E选项里面 the man-eater of the movies ，fewer than the ones……是两个修饰成分，但是在意思上不是并列的，前者修饰white shark，后者是修饰主干~~所以不能这样单独用逗号并列

还有个问题，E选项里的the ones有没有错？我这样想的，哪里不对还请指正：加了the就说明被鲨鱼吃的人和被蜜蜂蛰的人是相同的，因此E的这个the ones也不对。倘若把E改为movies——fewer than ones，不知道这样正确吗？还有个问题，B选项的those一定要省略吗？

fewer than have been省略those么？那those是指代seven people那不是说那些被鲨鱼吃掉的人又被蜜蜂杀死了么，指代有没有逻辑错误呢？
相比E中the ones是泛指就没有这个问题了啊

我是这样想的，这道题关键不是后面两个修饰的成分并列与否的问题。the man-eater of the movies 可以理解为white sharps的同位语，后面的成分是用来修饰主句的状语结构（可以跳过插入语直接修饰）。之所以E选项不对，是因为当the ones出现在句中时，一定是指代前面提到的复数人或物，而这道题目中提到了两种复数：people和movies，因此就出现了指代不清的错误。

贴prep08笔记（hhh12年是不是没有啊。。解释千奇百怪的。。
A. less错误，seven people是复数概念，要用fewer修饰。比较的是一个带有数值概念的复数名词seven
people，后文用those仅仅指代了people，失去了”数值概念”，所以是错误的，唯一一个好的解决方法是
than后面省略主语，后面补出have been，让省略的主语自动拥有”数值”属性
B. correct；than可以即做连词又做代词（当然还可以做介词），即than作为比较连词的同时指代了people(见
prep 1-202)；另外破折号的使用是适合的
C. which指代了the great white shark(或者也可以说是指代man-eater，其实逻辑上无区别，所以可以说是
指代等价的)，使得逻辑错误，并不是shark less than…而应该是人数更少，应该是seven people are fewer
than…；less错误，同A；than后面要用have been（同A）
D. a number同位语与其所修饰对象seven people太远；number不能跟people相比较，因为单纯的people
并没有”数值属性”
E. the ones没有”数值”概念，无法与seven进行数值上的比较；than后面应该用句子与前面意群平行。
