Hi all,

George Sand (Aurore Lucile Dupin) was one of the first European writers to consider the rural poor to be legitimate subjects for literature and portray these　with sympathy and respect in her novels.
(A) to be legitimate subjects for literature and portray these
(B) should be legitimate subjects for literature and portray these

答案E
请问option B的解释：should be is wordy and requires that following consider 是啥意思？

B:consider should be 是错的，因为这样的话consider 就接宾语从句了，那么就一定要补出that.即condsider that clause(A should be...).

在白勇语法笔记上看到的解释说consider的用法
1，consider sth. sth 后面常省略 to be 和as
2，consider sth. adj
3,consider that (that 不能省略，consider 不能直接加宾语)

我记得我一定在OG上看到过 that 是被省略的，但暂时实在是翻不出来例子。。。。

同位语从句连词 that和宾语从句连词 that 不能省略。
这里的的consider that中，that 是不是宾语从句连词啊，所以不能省略吧。
