标题: who，whose，that在GMAT里面是否都可以指人又指物？ [打印本页]

标题: who，whose，that在GMAT里面是否都可以指人又指物？
之前觉得who只能指人，whose和that人和物都可以。
但是好像GMAT里面的语法规则不是这样。
好像在GMAT里面 who也能指人和物，that只能指物不能指人，whose是都可以。

因为做了prep145

The Kwakiutl recognized one social unit larger than the tribe--the confederacy, which was a cluster of loosely knit, informally related neighboring tribes who interacted with themselves more often than between other tribes.

(A) tribes who interacted with themselves more often than between

(B) tribes who interacted among each other more often than among

选C。C中who指了tribes。到底who是不是只能指人呀？
请NN们帮忙解答一下who, whose, that的疑问。

我记得MGMAT的说，who可以指人或一组人，which只能指物，that可指人或物。whom是who的object。差不多是这样吧。。。

这题里最后用between，among 都是错误的；correct idiom是interact with。在这里用infinitive phrase有含糊的嫌疑所以我认为是c

Tribe 没有必要非要理解成部落这个地点, 也可以理解成 A group of people

[tr][td=4,1,288]WHICH, THAT - can not modify people[/td][/tr][tr][td=4,1]WHOSE - can modify either PEOPLE or THING[/td][/tr]

OG11-130：that不能指代人，只能用who来指代

我觉得8楼说的是对的，that 是不可以指人的，GWD里有一题whose是指了物，昨天才做过~
