标题: 翻了论坛，没有弄懂这两道题，请NN指教！
OG 85 vs. 89
不明白的地方是85题og解释里强调了as后面的动词要省略，不然就是awkward and unnecessary；而在89题 as后面的动词却是补出的。请指教！
OG 85:

ancient civilization that flourished at the same time
as the civilizations in the Nile Delta and the river
valleys of the Tigris and Euphrates.

我觉着有两个as的用法不一样，
第一个as是一个介词， 表达的是equate的意思， 就是谁和谁一样， 因此后面加动词的话很那个
第二个as是比较， 后面可以加， 也可以不加，只要没有歧义就可以了， 这里加上更好吧， 一看就知道是
主语在比较，如果不加的话，还得看半天
另外， 我好奇的是， 你已经是csbf了， 怎么还要考试？
ls看og， 看的可真细啊， 佩服啊

个人愚见，欢迎拍砖～首先两者都是比较。前面the same as 这是个固定～对它先有好感。其次，去掉at the same time as这个整体并去掉that flourished这个修饰语，前后都是civilisation这两个名词比较，但是是不同的civilisation在比较〔如果是相同的当然没有比较的意义了〕，因此比较有意义。各选项都这样看看，比较的内容都不合逻辑因此只有A正确。 第二个题相同的办法，去掉twice as much as.看前后比较对象，是主谓之间比较，因此后面要补出助动词。

OG85：我最初纠结于A和D，后来发现D错在those没有指代对象，前面的civilization是单数，不能用those指代，必须用that。此外个人觉得D中的did用得很好，避免了歧义，但是需指出，此处的did可以省略。
正如正确选项A，还原为：that flourished at the same time as the civilizations (flourished) in...，正确，按常理来说，最好将flourished改为did，但此处由于省略flourished不会引起歧义，因此可以省略。
B错在没有明确时间标志使用过去完成时（had done）。
C错在缺少as
E错在were，没有时间标志和对称因素使用were，错。
OG89：
A错在：dirt roads和ing分词不能比较，不对称。
C错在：ing分词和paved roads 不能比较，不对称。
D错在：ing分词和句子不对称，此外，it does 中的it无指代对象。
E错在：to do 和介词短语(for sth)不对称，个人认为若改为to maitain dirt roads costs as much as to maitain the paved roads就对了，可惜没这么直接的选项。
再回过头看选项B，即是说dirts roads cost as ... as paved roads do,这里的do指代cost，to maintain 置于as...as句型中作为对逻辑关系的限定和解释。
以上是我的解释，不知是否有用。
只是我也有问题，我做语法题总是太慢，把每个选项都读完再分析时间根本来不及，最后还会因为纠结于某两个选项儿浪费了很多时间。哎！

嗯，你这个方法很好用，我在85里没有注意最关键的修饰civilization that flourished 中的“that”，这样的话是用来修饰civilization的，就变成civilization这个名词了，是名词和名词的比较，因而和89不同了。

个人愚见，后面的动词不是必须省略，只是在GMAT中，不引起歧义的情况下，简洁性原则~

我在85里没有注意最关键的修饰civilization that flourished 中的“that”，这样的话是用来修饰civilization的，就变成civilization这个名词了，是名词和名词的比较，因而和89不同了。
