B选项后面this advance leading...为何不能理解为独立主格呢？

an advance是对前面的discovery的内容的一个概括，而this advance意思感觉像是前面已经出现了advance这个名词，然后this来个指代，而前文并没有出现advance。

再一个就是leading不能表达出has led的含义

我的理解哈，看看有木有帮助~

当然如果理解为同位语的话因为同位语不能用特指所以this advance肯定是不对的；但是this advance做独立主格补充说明整句话又怎么说呢？

我记得独立主格N+分词。。。这种形式和主句的逻辑关系是不紧密的，但这里明显就是对主句内容进一步的描述。。所以我觉得用独立主格不太好额
