标题: 关于although到底是逻辑主语考点还是主谓的考点，求解析。例题给出了【欢迎讨论】
Sunspots, , vortices of gas associated with strong electromagnetic activity, are visible as dark spots on the surface of the Sun but have never been sighted on the Sun's poles or equator.
ABE排除了，可是我突然不明白OG12的解释了，我是说有关CD的
(C) appear on the surface of the Sun as dark spots although never sighted at
（我理解sighted的逻辑主语还是sunspots，这里的是although+v-ed形式的状语省略从句，这个选项不合理的地方在于它改变了原句的意思：原句是说sunspots在太阳表面是能够以dark spots的形式被看到的，但是这个选项里只说了sunspots以dark spots的形式出现在太阳表面，而没有说能否被看见，于是改变原句含义）
但是为啥OG说是although引导的句子不完整，所以错误？？
下面D同理不明白
(D) appear as dark spots on the surface of the Sun, although never having been sighted at
（这里的错误在having done，having done表示的动作先于主句动作完成，改变原句的动作间的逻辑关系）
或者哪位能说一下怎样区分句子是考察逻辑主语和主谓结构
求助呀！@_@!!

只说如果although在这里用在状语从句省略，2个问题。

IMO,
C:
1) we need a COMMA before although, such as D ( I have never seen the structure in C)------> 欢迎举出反例

2) if we put a comma before although, the sentence will be：--> appear on the surface of the Sun as dark spots , although never sighted at

" although never sighted at" ,the subject seems to be" dark spots." wrong

<reference: Along with the drop in producer prices announced yesterday, the strong retail sales figures released today seem to indicate that the economy, although growing slowly, is not nearing a recession.> (prep or Gwd source)
here "although.." ---> the subject is economy, right.

D:
although## -->the structure is ok, however the SUBJECT is wrong . thus U ONLY can regard "although##" as a subordinate clause which need subject and verb.

小M，你看一下，
那是不是就是说，如果although要使用所谓的壮语从句省略，或者说考察逻辑主语的题目，

前提是1）although/when/even if等连词+分词/adj这种情况就是先有逗号（比如是svo.ving）还有如果是 although ving, svo这个也得有逗号。
2）svo,doing这个如果像上面这个题目那样，也得注意，除了主语部分外宾语部分是否会对分词 sighted同样有说得通的解释。关于这点有两个问题a,那这里如果题目变成了svo, doing 如果svo整个句子和O宾语都说得通那是不是同样也算doing错？

还有，dark spots, although having been....这个结构最开始的讲授不是说svo,doings发出doing//svo,doingsvo整体发出doing. 根本不存在往这道题目svo ,doing O来做doing发出者的情况吗？我的意思是就是说如果用svo,doing，doing来修饰o那一定错。。。所以，最后想问如果考试的时候遇到你怎样排除选项？谢谢

<one mistake.
Although verb-ing here is NOT used to describe the first sentence.

svo,verb-ing-->the verb-ing clause is used to EVTENDING its meaning (or happen at the same time) . "although.." is not the exenstion in the logic meaning (however, it is a slight CONTRAST)

thus there is no way for although verb-ing to function as <svo,doing>--which is used to describe first sentence.

1)Although accounting for only 5 percent of the world's population, United States citizens consume 28 percent of its nonrenewable resources, drive more than one-third of its automobiles, and use 21 times more water per capita than Europeans do.
------the logical subject is US ctizen

2)Along with the drop in producer prices announced yesterday, the strong retail sales figures released today seem to indicate that the economy, although growing slowly, is not nearing a recession
-----the logical subject is economy( modify the closest noun)

(although verb-ing cannot be used to describe the first clause, thus it can easily figure out the economy is the subject )
comma is preferable when we have to figure out the subject by ourselves(such as the examples above)

-----the logical subject is economy( modify the closest noun)修饰的不是 closest noun,这是假象....
因为Indicate引导的从句中，the economy是主语，所以（although） growing slowly 修饰的还是主语.....
