Ordinarily, a cancellation is due to mechanical problems with the airplane scheduled for a certain flight. However, since it is unlikely that Swift would have the mechanical problems with more than one or two scheduled flights on a single day, some of the nine cancellations were probably due to something else.
The argument depends on which one of the following assumptions?
答案是A:More than one or two airplanes were scheduled for the nine canceled flights. since it is unlikely that Swift would have the mechanical problems with more than one or two scheduled flights on a single day 这句话里面的 more than one or two scheduled flights到底应该怎么理解? 难不成airplane=flight,那这样的话不是很混乱?

flight is 航班.
It is unlikely that Swift would have the mechanical problems with more than one or two scheduled flights on a single day. This simply means that "it is unlikely" not "it is impossible." This premise says that mechanical problems only is unlikely to cause delay of more one or two scheduled flights on a single day. But your deduction of "因为如果这两架飞机飞了九个航班,那么一定是九个航班都是出了机械故障所以停飞", is wrong. Remember "unlikely" is not "must not."
