标题: 求NN解答, OG 87的解释貌似和Manhattan有冲突
这2天在查缺补漏,有些问题未免钻牛角尖了.请NN们不要见怪
87. In an effort to reduce their inventories, Italian vintners
have cut prices; their wines have been priced to sell,
and they are.
(A) have been priced to sell, and they are
(B) are priced to sell, and they have
(C) are priced to sell, and they do
(D) are being priced to sell, and have
(E) had been priced to sell, and they have
E They have would require sold to complete it,
not sell; the past-perfect had been priced
suggests illogically that the wines were
already priced to sell before the vintners cut
prices; moreover, since the past-perfect tense
indicates that one event in the past occurred
prior to another event in the past, the past-
tense did would be required rather than the
present-tense have.
意思是说E选项就算是had been priced to sell对了,后面部分 and they have也要 改成 and they did. 如果我理解的不对请指出.
Manhattan Ch13 P249 如下
[attachimg]86129[/attachimg]
我理解的是:还原不定式里面的动词,都应该用助动词原型: do 而不是 did. 无论不定式前面的时态,管你是过去完成,现在完成,现在进行,还是将来时态.
那也就是说 had been priced to sell,后面部分 and they do而不是og说的 and they did.
根据Manhattan:
The first instance of the verb should usually match the helping verb in tense. If you need to
change tenses, repeat the whole verb in the new tense.
如果真要改时态,也应该是 and they sold,也不是 and they did
请好心NN解答,谢谢啦~~

就打黄部分"the past-tense did would be required rather than the present-tense have"而言你的理解是正确的>
你给的2个例子:
Our cars were designed to< inspire> envy, and they do (inspire).
省略的核心是省略前面重复的词.前面出现的词是inspire,可以省略.
I have never <seen> an a, but last year my father did.
这里为什么不能用did?. 因为did不能跟前面出现的词seen.
假使had正确,则had been priced to< sell>, and they did (sell). right

谢谢ls解答!
了解了,我原来关于还原不定式省略形式的总结的是错的.
现在看来,就像你说的,只要把握这个原则,能把原来的词还原出来就可以了,然后, 具体是did,还是do还是要根据逻辑来判断. 对吧

对滴 还有时态..比方这里就不能用had..嘿嘿..

恩,这个我知道.![](/static/legacy-emoticon/0.gif)
如果用had,这里就变成还原had been priced...了.意思就完全变了.就像Manhattan的第二个例子.

great question and brilliant reply!

看题的时候需要注意比较结构还是平行结构。lzpost的规则适用于平行结构.
比如下面的比较结构里:
#1. Since 1990 the global economy has grown more than it did during the 10,000 years from the beginning of agriculture to 1950.
#2. In the United States, trade unions encountered far more intense opposition in their struggle for social legitimacy than did the organized labor movements of most other democratic nations.

这个是旧帖了,不过我怎么觉得OG的解释“the past-tense did would be required rather than the present-tense have.“中的have指的是前一句的”Italian vintners have cut prices“

感觉您举的例子很好!在第一句话里是比较结构,所以并不符合那个规则。而第二句是平行结构所以符合那个规则,对吧?
