标题: 求助Manhattan语法P98的一道练习题
Unaccustomed to the rigors of college life, James's grades dropped.

解释:Unaccustomed to... college lifo: INCORRECT.    As a noun modifier, the past participle unaccustomed modi- fies the noun phrase James's grades. However, the author of the sentence obviously intends for unaccustomed to modify James himsel£ If we wish to begin the sentence with the noun modifier, we must rephrase the sentence to make James the subject.

改正后的句子:Unaccustomed    to the rigors of college life, James allowed his grades to drop.

题目简单易懂,但是它的这个改正后的句子的意思对吗? Allowed his grades to drop??
我觉得Unaccustomed to the rigors of college life表示的是James无力控制他的grades
