    (C) fund intended to sustain the state’s economy after oil reserves are exhausted
    (D) fund intended to sustain the state’s economy after exhausting its oil reserves

    I prefer C instead of D here.

Just realized it should be D as the subject here is "Alaska" and it is reasonable to put the sentence in the following way "Alaska exhauts its oil reserves."

If it were "As" instead of "A" at the beginning of the sentence, I think this should be the right answer.

Several financial officers of the company spoke on condition that they not be named in the press reports.

    A.    that they not be named
    B.    that their names will not be used
    C.    that their names are not used
    D.    of not having their names
    E.    of not naming them
      Answer:

Lyme disease is caused by a bacterium transmitted to humans by deer ticks . Generally deer ticks pick up the bacterium while in the larval stage from feeding on infected white-footed mice. However, certain other species on which the larvae feed do not harbor the bacterium. Therefore, if the population of these other species were increased, the number of ticks acquiring the bacterium and hence the number of people contracting Lyme disease would likely decline.

Which of the following, if true, most strengthens the argument?

    A.    Ticks do not suffer any adverse consequences from carrying the bacterium that causes Lyme disease in humans.
    B.    There are no known cases of a human’s contracting Lyme disease through contact with white-footed mice.
    C.    A deer tick feeds only once while in the larval stage.
    D.    A single host animal can be the source of bacterium for many tick larvae.
    E.    None of the other species on which deer tick larvae feed harbor other bacteria that ticks transmit to humans

The spraying of pesticides can be carefully planned, but accidents, weather conditions that could not be foreseen, and pilot errors often cause much larger deposits of spray than they had anticipated.

    (B) weather conditions that cannot be foreseen, and pilot errors often cause much larger deposits of spray than
    (C) unforeseeable weather conditions, and pilot errors are the cause of much larger deposits of spray than they had
    (D) weather conditions that are not foreseeable, and pilot errors often cause much larger deposits of spray than

I think the answer is A.  It's a subjunctive mood used here. "...on condition that they (should) not be named in the press reports."

However, certain other species on which the larvae feed do not harbor the bacterium. Therefore, if the population of these other species were increased, the number of ticks acquiring the bacterium and hence the number of people contracting Lyme disease would likely decline.

    "Lyme disease"是由“deer ticks”将病菌带给人类引起的。通常“deer ticks”在幼年期因吃感染的白脚鼠而摄取了病菌。然而,存在某些“deer ticks”为食的其他物种不会harbor这种病菌。

    结论:如果这些其他物种数量增长,则感染病菌的ticks数量就会下降,从而人类感染Lyme disease的数量也会下降。

Which of the following, if true, most strengthens the argument?

I would like to choose C here.

    C.    A deer tick feeds only once while in the larval stage.
    如果个体“deer tick”一生只在幼年期进食一次,同时,它的食物对象(其他没有病菌的物种)数量在增加,这样感染的几率就小,自然人类受感染的几率也变小了。

The spraying of pesticides can be carefully planned, but accidents, weather conditions that could not be foreseen, and pilot errors often cause much larger deposits of spray than they had anticipated.

I would like to choose D here:

    (D) weather conditions that are not foreseeable, and pilot errors often cause much larger deposits of spray than

First, it should be "than anticipated" rather than "than they had anticipated". You can not find any clue of what "they", if right, refers to. It is better to use passive form here, namely, "anticipated".

Second, "foreseeable" should be better than "forseen", as the formal is descriptive in meaning.

    可是答案是B ,奇怪吧··11
