答案这样解释的：

(A) as the former chair… for 18 consecutive years不符合逻辑，而且主语谓语是attended…，如果是former chair，attended…也是不符合逻辑的。

没看懂A为什么不合逻辑，答案选的E。

毛毛，这么说来，语法题也要看句子意思按照逻辑去选啦~要是只从单纯的语法角度，A对不对嘞？~
