MM seems to say "with more of the amino acids essential to the human diet" is talking about protein instead of rice. Right?

okay, got it! the "with" adverbial phrase should modify the subject. Another example to this effect in OG:
90D: Since 1986, when the Department of Labor began to allow fees of investment officers to be based on the performance of the funds they manage, several corporations have begun paying their investment advisers a small basic fee, with a contract promising higher fees if the managers perform well.
But why with in here does not 紧跟被修饰的中心词"rice"，but close to "protein"?
If 是原因状语, then with modifies the whole sentence (or has) not rice, right bunnier?
I think that 原因状语 may be more reasonable.
我觉得是因为"in addition to--"让我们可以确定句子主语是"rice"而不是"protein of rice"，根据这个，我们判断"with---"是修饰主语"rice"的，而不是距离较近的"protein"。如果这句句子没有"in addition to---"，那句子主语可以是"rice"，也可以是"protein of rice"，就看作者要表达什么意思了，这时，"with---"修饰的是什么，还是跟着句子主语走的。

When the "with" phrase is placed at the beginning, it's quite clear what 修饰主语 is. But the phrase is placed at the end... it's very confusing to bunnier. For explame, what's wrong with Da Quan 73A?

Reading it and thinking about ggmm's responses, I finally understand it: "with" 可以做定语修饰或状语修饰. With this understanding (and thus, the understanding of sentences), we can actually choose the best answer!

with +n.+adj.是一种独立主格阿，做壮语与主句形成紧密地逻辑关系。
所以我认为是说rice的
是独立主格没有错！！！
其实无所谓修饰谁吧，因为他和主句有关系可是没有那么紧密才用独立主格来表达嘛
