这道题考了so……that 结构，和平行

E选项：So dogged were Frances Perkins’ investigations of the garment industry
so persistent her lobbying for wage and hour reform
两个倒装结构平行。
LZ是问第二句缺少个谓语吧？这里其实是省略了谓语
两个并列分句中，当谓语动词为系动词或者become时，后面一句必须省略。

那连接词也可以省略吗？比如so... and so... that

倒装句里面，这个and也是必须省略的。还原句型应该是：

Frances Perkins' investigations of the garment industry were so dogged,（and） her lobbying for wage and hour reform (was) so persistent, that Alfred E. Smith and Franklin D. Roosevelt recruited Perkins to work within the government, rather than as a social worker.

哎呀，我说错了一点点，应该是

两个并列分句中，当谓语动词为系动词或者become时，后面一句必须省略，and也必须省略~~

carina班班有没有别的例子？
prep2008笔记p193有两个解释，
1.省略说，但我对这个and也省了谓语也省了惟独so没有省略的E答案无法理解。。。

2.独立结构说。但我无法理解既然是独立结构，那应该和主句的so...that无关才是啊？

第一个谓语是复数were，第二个谓语是单数was，这样省略也没问题吗？

and的省略在陈述句也可以，没有谓语动词就不需要加连词，而可以只加连接副词如then, thus, so, therefore, while。

"so persistent her lobbying for wage and hour reform"两边都有逗号表明是修饰成分，不需要and连接的，这个成分本质上是一个独立主格的倒装。独立主格的倒装在其他题目里面也出现过，不过忘了在哪里了。

显然我是独立主格派的...因为支持was和were不同还是需要补出was的.
