There is no denying the fact that whether children should learn to manage their own money at a young age is a popular topic which has caused heated debate over a long period of time, because it affects every family member in the daily life. There are some people think children should not learn to manage their own money before they are mature enough. But I would have to say that, if I were faced with this issue, I would probably let my children learn the management of money at a young age. In the following discussion, I would like to reason and provide evidence to support my viewpoint.
No issue is more important now than the one refers to learning to manage their own money at a young age can provide children more experiences which are absolutely valuable for children themselves especially after they grow up. As is known to all, you will learn more about a road by travelling it than by consulting all the maps in the world. When it comes to management of money, experiences are also very important. Here is a persuasive example of myself. Before I went to primary school at about 6 years’ old, my mother let me manage my own money. Of course she told me how she herself manage money such as depositing the  large amount of money in the bank, always keeping a list of the usage for every dollar and so on so forth. I learnt to go to bank by myself to deposit my money and make note every time I use it. Also I made plans of how and when to spend my money. That was very exciting experience for me from which I really benefit.
To this important reason, the issue which learning to manage money at a young age is good for character cultivation must be added. Children learn to be more confident and independent because they can make their own decisions of their money.
On the other hand, there are some people who cast serious doubts on learning to manage money at a young age. Children may abuse the money to buy something they don't really need or spend money inappropriately, for instance, paying for the video games frequently which will influence their study. But these disadvantages never overweigh the advantages of learning to manage money at a young age, so the most striking conclusion is obvious.
To sum up, given the reasons discussed above, which sometimes intertwine to form an organic whole and thus become more persuasive, we can safely reach the conclusion that children should learn to manage their own money at a young age.
