标题: Prep 07语法54题，关于in using有疑惑

Unlike using spices for cooking, in medicinal usage they are taken in large quantities in order to treat particular maladies
(A)略
(B)Unlike spices that are used in cooking, in using spices for medicine, they are taken
其他的选项就不看了，都理解了。

这个B是错误选项，解释中是这样的：in using 短语既可以修饰前一个分句，又可以修饰后一个分句，造成修饰歧义。

但是这个in using是怎么修饰前一个和后一个分句的？说是有歧义，翻译过来是什么意思？
还望理解此句话的同学们帮忙解答~谢谢！

根据题目提供的信息， they are taken (in....) in order to treat (particular) maladies. they 指代spicies最合理，药用时， spicies被用于治疗特殊的疾病
