If Dr. W was right, any apparent connection of the eating of highly processed foods and excelling at sports is purely coincidental.

b should Dr W be right, any apparent connection of eating

c If Dr w is right, any apparent connection between eating

d should Dr w have been right, any connection apparent between eating

应该选什么

答案是c，但我认为至少应该把is换成 were

所以我开始选的是d.这个结构错在哪里呢？请大家发表意见

这个不是虚拟语气，你看未划线部分的位于是一般现在时is，虚拟条件句的谓语都是would加上原型或现在完成时。这句话就是一般的真实条件句。
