因为 the grassy fields and old pastures也和upland sandpiper一样vanishing了。。。两个主语用同一个谓语

The subject must be the bird--sandpipes. so, eliminate C,D,E
A is wrong, because it should say "the vanishing of S" not "S' that vanishing...is result" the bird can't be result of.

因为 the grassy fields and old pastures也和upland sandpiper一样vanishing了。。。两个主语用同一个谓语

这样的话应该是 the bird itself are vanishing 了么。。。。。

前面like引导的是状语，句子的重心和主干是在后面。把句子的次序顺过来，再简化，就是 The sandpiper itself is vanishing like the grassy fields and old pastures (are vanishing). 这里用is是对的。
