标题: OG11-137的一个小问题～急！
The company announced that its profits declined much less in the second quarter than analysts ( had expected and that its business would improve ) in the second half of the year.

括号中为正确选项，我对答案没有异议，只是觉得business可以主动improve吗？这里应该改成would be improved 才对呀！小弟实在不明白！还望哪位好心NN解释一下，万分感谢！！

及物动词 vt.

1.改进,改善;增进

他提出了一个提高生产率的计划。
2.提高(土地,地产)的价值
3.利用(机会等)

不及物动词 vi.

1.改善,变得更好
Their working conditions are improving.
他们的工作条件正在改善。
2.增加,提高
The price of steel improved.
钢材价格提高了。

business improve中improve是vi
