a letter in handwriting identified as that of the fourth copyist mentions a plague that killed many people in Florence in 1148中只有1148年有用，其他都是废话呀。这句话对全文的贡献是：我们有确切的证据表明1148年发生过一次瘟疫。至于，证据是什么，这不应是Taker关心的事情。
原文的逻辑是
前提：
1、手稿换人，说明人死了，原因是瘟疫
2、我们知道1148年有一次瘟疫
结论：
手稿写于1148年 <= 这才是结论

所以很明显其间有一个假设，历史上只有这一次瘟疫

题目中确实提到换人，也提到了瘟疫。但是不一定就能推出死于瘟疫啊。只是有这个可能性，为什么就变成后面推理的前提了呢？
求大牛解答 =)

每个人写的内容的多少与人是否得瘟疫没有任何关系。如果说最后三个人都是得瘟疫而死，那么他们写的页数可以是10,2,,8，也可以是7，8,5。

写的内容越来越少与瘟疫无关，那么就更与CB是哪一年写成的无关了。

所以，无法support。

我是这么理解地：

首先找出作者的推理链(hypothesis)：
different copyist[premise1]--> significant disruption(the plague in 1148)[premise2] -->[conclusion]the treatise produced at the time the disruption occurred. 可以看出该链有个GAP,即从第二条推出第三条的时候，若PLAGUE不止一次呢？

2. 但是如果1100S出现过几次瘟疫，那么以上推理链就不成立了。（不然我们怎么知道到底是哪次瘟疫换的COPYIST)
3. 答案提供了：1100S 只有一次瘟疫！-->>>根据原文就是1148的那次--->>>produced in 1848

20页很好完成，却有两个copyist连续没搞定。在假设一个挂掉另一个接上的前提下，一定是两个都出事了。GMAC接着假设这个事件是plague。那么如果发生过很多次plague,那么我们无法确定到底哪次两个全死了，第三个写完。所以应该只发生一次plague才行。这次plague恰好与文中所给1148年的那个相吻合。可知第三个也就是最后一个copyist接手后在那一年（1148）轻松完成了最后几页。这里又来了个推论，就是GMAC推论完成copy即PRODUCE.呼呼，解答完毕。

跟“account by ”没关系啊。是“10 months”这个时间与有几次disruption无关，进而与确定cb是否在1148年完成无关~

就算只有一次瘟疫就可以知道是在1148完成的么？也可能是1148的瘟疫死了前三个，最后一个是1149或是以后完成的呀。。。求指导。。

我也是纠结在这里，又不一定是在1148年？难道是我对那个produced理解有偏差？还是所谓，逻辑题中只能选最好的，而不是没错的@@

同意楼上。

GMAC的逻辑是这样的：根据一些原因做了一个推论，问几个答案中哪一个最能支持？至于说支持完了以后，是否就论证完美了，那是另一回事，就像前面有同学提到的缺陷：为什么说换人就一定是死于瘟疫？为什么就一定是1148，而不是1149？这些不重要，很可能支持完了论证还是有问题。但是我们能从几个选项中，找到一个相对最支持的，就好了。

这就是GMAC的逻辑，我们不能期望题目出得很完美。

ls说的太有道理了，若要真正做到论证滴水不漏，怕不是几行的文字能说清楚的，最靠谱的只有排除法和比较法，难题几乎都是难在这里，分数差距也是在这里，有没有耐心rule out other choices (我想说的是有没有时间读懂。。。。）

你的意思是发生了两次瘟疫，还是前提1中的人死了的那次瘟疫和1148年的瘟疫是同一场（题目没有说是同一场瘟疫）？

其实我觉得楼上的回复都没打中要点，因为我们不是native speaker可能会遗漏题干里的一些要点。题干里的原话是4th copyist "mentioned a plague that killed many people in 1148"而不是“mentioned that a plague killed many people in 1148"，这里的意思不一样。第一个（原文）说提到了瘟疫，没说年代，第二个说的是4th copyis直接说了1148年这个年代。所以很明显，题目本身已经在暗示1148年发生过鼠疫，就说书是那年完成的，逻辑gap就是4th copyist提到的鼠疫是1148那一次鼠疫。

A：4th是最后一个完成誊写的
B：4th提到了鼠疫
C：1148发生过鼠疫
结论：书是1148年完成的。A+B+C+”提到的鼠疫就是1148鼠疫“=结论。

可能有人的疑问在于，以上的逻辑成立了又怎么了，也可能最后一个人花了5年才写完啊。不是完全没可能，虽然做逻辑的时候要infer as little as possible，但是这个时候我们可以做一个合理的假设，（OG解释里也有提到）一个作品花了4个人去完成，肯定是部大著和红楼梦一般，诶，结果好像不是，就一个誊写，抄东西都要4个人，那肯定要抄很厚的一本书了，诶，结果好像也不是就100页，100页不用说4个人了，一个人我两天可能都能抄完，所以肯定有鬼，这不，最后一个提到鼠疫，那么鼠疫可可能干掉了其他几个抄写的人了（说明1148至少已经有人在抄了），那么写完肯定不用太久，当年就能抄完了。

我来谈谈的我的看法，不是NN，open to discuss

我想很多同学对这道题的逻辑链是很清楚的，问题是卡在了
为什么D支持了结论。

首先题目中的killed many people
many是一个很大的范围。
如果这场瘟疫杀死了无数人但就是没有杀死copyists，
那就是说copyists是在其他瘟疫中被杀死的，那CB可能就在别的年代被创作。

如果1100s就一场瘟疫的话，说明这场瘟疫杀人无数，
同时也杀死了预期目标：copyists
所以如果1100s只有一场瘟疫，那么CB必定是在1148创作的。

不知道有没有解开大家的疑惑。

注意原文的but转折，明显暗示这二十页很轻松不用到1149年。开始我也困惑一这里。
