恭喜lz。又一个电信行业的，而且是sales，从工作经历上看不是h就是z了吧。我也是同行业，同sales，已经拿到欧洲剑桥的offer了，还有mit和ucla在等信呢，希望和lz认识。

要相信自己哦，duke不是那种需要很强背景才能录取的学校。只要把学校关注点和自己联系好了就可以了。
每个人都有闪光点看怎么挖掘。
比如说：从你的名字可以推断你会说日语。跨文化的交流？为什么喜欢日语？在学习日语的过程中有没有什么比较好的经历改变了你的生活或者收益匪浅？你对日本文化有多少理解？日本和中国的历史很微妙，你的经历是否有助于两国人民的互相理解？日本人的菊花与刀在日本企业上的体现，如何取长补短？
各方面总结一下，把日语这个元素在你身上放大，增加亮度，然后在duke身上寻找可以发生共鸣的地方，比如说duke的global perspective,你对亚洲文化的理解比较多方面，使得duke可以变得更global，你如果喜欢读动漫，动漫也是一样business，你对动漫产业发展的理解，未来可以分享给duke peers。

这个日语可以是你对duke contribution的一个方面，这样寻找4～5个如喜爱的体育运动（越少人从事越好），参加过的社团和公益组织，组成第二篇essay,就比较丰富了。
