C. Those who did not write business plans used their connection to attract funding instead of using the merits of their work.

Let's use an analogy. Among the students who entered a MBA program, half have GMAT scores and half have not. However, those without GMAT scores got accepted because they knew the director in charge of the admission. Would this information weaken the conclusion that GMAT is useless in the application process?

我觉得应该是E，The entrepreneurs who produced business plans generally reported later that the process of writing the plan had increased their confidence that their company would succeed.

正好削弱，因为E人从准备计划中获得自信更容易取得成功，C说的是E人从别人那里获得资金，和题目说的计划不能帮他们获得资金这不就是支持了吗？

Assumption: W/O plan -----> secure the capital need in less time

Weaken: Plan do help OR other factors help secure the capital need in less time

A. Companies started by entrepreneurs who had used formal biz plans to attract investments were on teh whole as profitable in their first year as were companies started by entrepreneurs who had not produced such plans ----> Out of scope, who cares about profit

B. In surveys of entrepreneurs who have attempted w/o success to raise sufficient capital, more than half of the respondents indicate that they have produced a formal business plan ----> look like this strengthen

C. Among the entrepreneurs surveyed, those who did not produce formal business plans sought and received a much larger proportion of their capital from investors with whom they had long-standing biz relationship ----> Correct, other factors help secure the capital need in less time
