我认为lesser和less在作副词时，意思是一样的，只是固定用法不同

仅是经验，作为副词时：
less可修饰动词，lesser不可修饰动词：如lesser-known中known 是过去分词作定语。
less可与than连用，lesser不可以与than连用－这条偶确定。

less和lesser都是形容词和副词little的比较级，但lesser但通常用作修饰语（定语），表示较少的，较小的或者次要的，如the lesser evil（较轻的祸害），the lesser known modern poets（次要的现代诗人），有时也可用作名词词组中心词，如the lesser of two evils（两种祸害中较轻的一种）。很少用于lesser…than结构。注意lesser后面不能跟than-分句。
至于less做名词的用法，记得OG好像提过，具体不记得了！

我就是疑惑OG提出得关于less作名词得用法，因为查了很多书和词典，都没找到，这个问题也是大家一直疑惑的，但是好像没有解决
要是暂时找不到，那就先搁着吧
