主语是the quality，要用surpasses，直接排除ABC。 原句意思是 意大利、西欧玻璃的质量超过地中海玻璃的质量，D that of the eastern M，变成了地中海的质量，所以错。 E not only with regard to ... but also in terms of ....是介词短语/介词短语，平行对等。
