为何B不对？？我觉得black americans确实应该用复数吧？多谢大家！

分析一下这个结构：the three best novels ever written by a Black American
其中ever written by a Black American作为后置定语修饰novels表示这些novels的特征
而这个特征正是被“一个美国黑人写的”而不是被“很多美国黑人写的”
准却说明了每一本书都是被一个人写的，而非合作的结果

实战中不可能考虑这么多细节

本题在BE中取舍方法为
B中的including从语法上讲可能作后置定语修饰Black Americans，也可能作状语修饰前面的句子。
但这两种可能都不合逻辑
1、including修饰Black Americans，错误
2、including作状语逻辑主语为Jean Toomer's Cane，同样错误
因此排除B，取E。

一楼对including 的评价是错误的，including 虽然用逗号隔开，但是不同于其它的分词-ing结构的用法，它是可以跨越任何对于主句宾语的修饰结构，只修饰主句的宾语的，例题
United States Senator Daniel Inouye was appointed to several posts within the Democratic Party during his first term, that included assistant majority whip and vice-chair of the Democratic Senatorial Committee.
A.   that included
B.   which includes
C.   including
D.   some of which were
E.   among them being

这道题不可以用including 是因为including 必须要全部包括所有the three best novels,而并不是其中的某几项，everyone not just a part of

首先，主语是one of…written by，所以要用a black amaricans.
其次，one of 不可能including…，
再次，破折号后面接the others being是常见用法
（白勇P8）可以引出：做补充说明的句子或短语、同位语、插入语、列举的事物。
Nytimes 例子：

Out of five sales advertised to be held only one resulted in a sale -- all the others being adjourned.

A panel of thirty was exhausted, out of whom but five were sworn--four of the others being peremptorily challenged, and twenty-one being set aside for cause.

而且特别注意，前面有数字提示，of 30 people，4 was，the others being很常用

最后，而且书名大多用所有格表述，且与前面一致

"don't split on word choice first. that's not a smart way to split.

go with grammar first.
in this case, parallel structure is pretty easy. the sentence makes it clear that you're comparing novels, not their authors, so (a), (c), and (d) are instantly out because their second halves mistakenly mention the people themselves as part of the comparison.
(b) is not as parallel as (e), either. since the original says "jean toomer's cane", the others should also have the form "X's Y", not "Y by X".

word choice is a sticky thing. for instance, it's actually better to say "birds have a four-chambered heart" than to say "birds have four-chambered hearts", because the former makes it clear that each bird has exactly 1 heart. both, however, are acceptable.
in a similar vein, the construction of (d) and (e) makes it more clear that each book has exactly 1 author.

这题中的  a black American or black Americans 并没有歧义但是 GMAT中偏向前一种，毕竟前面说的是一个人的作品  如果是多个人的作品  想必不会这样表示  但是这个不能作为绝对的错误只能说GMAT 更倾向哪一个
其主要的错误在于破折号前后的平行问题  前面的主语是JT‘s cane是书  所以和后面是书是最后的平行方式 LZ的疑问虽然也是接的书但是形式上没有E的好  RW’sns andIE 's Im
选项中选择最好的形式所以选择E选项了这题我本来也有疑问  但是看了大家的解释  毛瑟顿开  希望能帮到你
