标题: gwd一道逻辑,b怎么选出来
The cause of the wreck of the ship Edmund Fitzgerald in a severe storm
on lake Superior is still unknown , when the sunken wreckage of the ves-
sel was round , searchers discovered the hull in two pieces lying close
together , The storm's violent waves would have caused separate pieces
floating even briefly on the surface to drift apart . Therefore . the breakup
of the null can be ruled out as the cause of the sinking .
Which of the following is an assumption on which the argument depends?

答案是b, 题目说了些什么事,怎么做出来

题目里的准确意思没查字典,不知道,但按我的理解,选B比较合理.
题目说cause未知,但是因为这个hull(null)变成两截但是距离很近,题中说,如果是这个原因引起的,那么“The storm's violent waves would have caused separate pieces floating even briefly on the surface to drift apart ”此处用了虚拟语气,所以事实相反,题中排出了这个原因。
问假设,这个可以利用 他因法 ,即排除其他能使hull 距离很近(除了原文中已经给出的)的原因,B就是那个其他原因。

it says the waves caused by storms r violent enough to drift the separate pieces apart. so it's impossible that the two pieces consisting of the hull r lying closely unless the hull wasnt broken. but there is still one possibility that the hull was broken up and the underwater current put two pieces together. B excludes the possibility and it can be sure the breakup of the hull is not the cause of the sinking.
