答案是E，不懂B为什么不对？ 还有OG上关于B的解释什么意思？ B貌似的确可以support的 B It does not matter how much fossil fuel was used to manufacture the older technologies originally. Th at has no bearing on whether more fossil fuel would have been expended as a result of the continued operation of the industries if the partial switch to newer technologies had not occurred.

文章问strengthen这个argument: less fossil fuel is being used as a result of the operations of these industries than would have been used if these industries had retained their older technologies B说的是生产制造新旧机器的问题，而不是新旧机器在以后生产产品当中的消耗问题
